The volunteer
director decided the best option was to present our two cases to the orphanage
and let them decide which option they preferred for Shao Jun. In the meantime, I followed the steps I felt
were needed to make our logistics easier should we be chosen. I sought approval from our housing
department: The answer was of course, and how noble. I sought childcare options through my Chinese
friends: The lady we met who agreed to work for us should we need it said
"I will love her like my own granddaughter." And finally, only a few days ago, after their
own prayers for clarity, the other family decided not to move forward with
requesting Shao Jun for adoption. Our
path is clear and wide.
